'영조정순후가례도감 의궤 嘉禮都監儀軌'
Garedogam Uigwe on the Wedding of King Yeongjo and Queen Jeongsun, 1759
1759년 66세의 국왕 영조가 17세의 신부 정순왕후를 두 번째 왕비로 맞이하는 결혼식 준비를 정리한 의궤이다. 왕비를 선택하는 과정부터 왕비를 맞이하는 과정까지 혼인 준비와 관련된 주요 사항들이 그림과 기록으로 자세하게 묘사되어 있다. 특히 의궤 말미에 있는 반차도는 혼인 행사의 주요 장면을 오늘날 결혼사진을 찍듯이 그림으로 표현한 것으로’결혼식에 참여한 사람들의 복장’많은 의장기와 말 모습’가마의 형태와 위치 등 결혼식 현장의 생생한 모습을 전하고 있다.
Garedogam Uigwe is a royal protocol in which wedding arrangements in 1759 for a second marriage of 66-year old King Yeongjo with 15-yearold Queen Jeongsun are recorded. It provides detailed description of theirmarriage preparation process from selection of a queen candidateto officialwedding ceremony through text and illustrations. Especially at the end of the book, Banchado - a royal procession illustration - presents snapshotsketches of wedding scenes including how guests are dressed, what ceremonial flags and horses look like, and the shape and position of palanquins, etc.
